Warranty Information
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Many products sold by FinnsDirect are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee.
Warranty periods, eligibility and claim procedures vary depending on the brand, product and whether the product has been registered with the manufacturer.
A manufacturer’s warranty is separate from your legal rights and does not replace them.
1. Manufacturer warranties
The warranty supplied with a product is provided under the relevant manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
The duration and coverage may vary between power tools, hand tools, batteries and chargers, accessories, garden tools, storage products and other product types.
The applicable warranty information may be shown on the product page, product packaging, purchase documentation or manufacturer’s website.
Please retain your FinnsDirect order confirmation or invoice as proof of purchase. Proof of purchase is normally required when making a warranty claim.
Important
Some extended warranties require online registration shortly after purchase.
Please check the manufacturer’s requirements as soon as you receive your product.
2. Extended warranty registration
Some manufacturers allow qualifying products to be registered for an extended warranty.
Registration is normally the customer’s responsibility and must usually be completed within a limited period after purchase. The deadline, eligible products and warranty length vary by manufacturer.
We recommend checking the manufacturer’s warranty website shortly after receiving your product.
When registering, you may need:
- the product model or serial number;
- the purchase date;
- a copy of your FinnsDirect invoice; and
- your contact details.
FinnsDirect cannot guarantee extended warranty cover where registration was not completed correctly or within the manufacturer’s deadline.
3. Making a warranty claim
Please contact FinnsDirect first if you believe your product has developed a fault during its warranty period.
Contact us by emailing support@finnsdirect.co.uk or completing our Contact Us form.
Please include:
- your order number;
- the product name;
- the product serial number, where applicable;
- a clear description of the fault;
- when the fault first occurred; and
- photographs or video where these help demonstrate the problem.
Please do not send the product to our registered office or any other address until we have provided return instructions.
4. What happens after you contact us
We will review the information supplied and advise you on the next step.
Depending on the product and manufacturer’s procedure, we may:
- arrange for the product to be returned;
- refer the claim to the manufacturer;
- direct you to an authorised service agent;
- arrange an inspection;
- assist with a repair or replacement request; or
- offer another appropriate remedy.
Some manufacturers manage warranty repairs directly and may arrange collection and return of the product themselves.
The manufacturer or service agent may require the product to be inspected before confirming whether the fault is covered.
5. What warranties normally cover
Manufacturer warranties generally cover manufacturing defects and faults arising during normal use, subject to the individual manufacturer’s terms.
Coverage may differ between the main tool, batteries, chargers, accessories and consumable components.
A repair, replacement or other warranty remedy will be determined according to the manufacturer’s terms and the findings of any inspection.
6. What may not be covered
Subject to the manufacturer’s terms, warranty cover may not apply to:
- normal wear and tear
- consumable parts and accessories
- accidental or impact damage
- misuse, neglect or improper storage
- use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions
- overloading or use with unsuitable materials
- incorrect batteries, chargers or accessories
- unauthorised repairs or modifications
- damage caused by inadequate maintenance
- cosmetic damage that does not affect operation
- loss or theft
- products with altered, removed or unreadable serial numbers
Do not attempt to dismantle, repair or modify a faulty product before contacting us. An unauthorised repair can make it more difficult to establish the cause of a fault and may invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
7. Faults shortly after delivery
If a product arrives damaged, incorrect, incomplete or faulty, please contact us promptly rather than beginning a manufacturer warranty claim.
These cases are covered by our Returns & Refunds Policy, and different remedies may be available.
8. Your statutory rights
Manufacturer warranties are provided in addition to your statutory rights.
Products supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. A manufacturer’s warranty cannot remove these rights.
Please contact FinnsDirect even if:
- the manufacturer’s warranty has expired;
- you did not register for an extended warranty; or
- you are unsure whether the problem is covered.
We will consider the circumstances and explain the available next steps.
